Legal Notices

In short

This page says who we are, and sets out the ordinary terms for using this website.

It replaces two older pages, the Legal Notice and the Terms of Use, which said much the same thing twice.

We are Cue Point Technology Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. Our full details are below, and you can always reach a person at legal@cuepoints.com.

Paddle sells CuePoints for us. They are the merchant of record, so your purchase is a contract with them, and they handle payment, tax, invoices and refunds.

Read the site, print it, quote it, link to it. It is here to be used. We keep the rights to the material itself, so ask us before republishing it, and the answer is usually yes.

CuePoints is a registered trade mark, and the logo is ours too. If you want to use either in a review, an article or a case study, get in touch. We are pleased when people write about us.

Most questions are answered elsewhere. What you may do with the software is in the End User Licence Agreement. What we do with your data is in the Privacy Policy. Getting your money back is in the Refund Policy.

2. How we sell

Orders are processed by Paddle.com Market Ltd, who act as our reseller and are the merchant of record for every order. Your purchase is a contract with Paddle. They take the payment, charge any tax due, issue your invoice, answer billing questions and process refunds.

Paddle's buyer terms apply to the sale alongside our own documents.

3. The other documents

This page covers the company and the website. Three others cover everything else, and between them they answer most questions:

End User Licence Agreement

What you may and may not do with the CuePoints software

Privacy Policy

What we collect, why, where it is held and your rights

Refund Policy

Getting your money back, and how

Where this page and one of those disagree about the software, your data or your money, the specific document is the one that counts.

4. Using this website

The site is here to be read and used. You are welcome to browse it, print pages, quote from it with attribution, and link to any page you like; no permission needed and no need to tell us.

Two limits, both the ordinary ones. The material on the site remains ours, so republishing it or reusing our images and layouts needs our permission first. And the site is not to be scraped in bulk, interfered with, or used for anything unlawful.

If you want to reuse something, ask. Journalists, educators and customers writing about their own shows are usually told yes, and quickly. legal@cuepoints.com.

If you find a security problem, on this site or in CuePoints, tell us at legal@cuepoints.com before publishing it. We will take it seriously, we will keep you informed, and we will not pursue anybody who reports something in good faith.

5. Availability

We aim to keep this site running at all times, and we watch it. Even so, it will occasionally be unavailable, while we are maintaining it, or because of something at our hosting provider that is outside our hands.

We may also change, move or withdraw parts of the site as the product changes.

6. Accuracy

We keep this site accurate and current, and we update it as the software changes. What we cannot do is warrant that every page is complete and free from error at every moment.

Screenshots, specifications, performance figures and system requirements are a general illustration of the product rather than a promise about how it will behave on your particular machine. If something here looks wrong, tell us and we will fix it.

Nothing on this page limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, we are not liable for loss arising from reliance on the information on this site.

If you are a consumer, nothing here affects your statutory rights.

7. Links to other sites

We link out where it is useful, to our suppliers, to standards bodies, to the manufacturers of equipment CuePoints works with. Those sites are not ours to control, their content is their own, and their terms apply to you when you are there.

8. Copyright

All text, images, graphics, video, layout and design on this site are © Cue Point Technology Ltd, unless stated otherwise. All rights reserved.

9. Trade marks

CuePoints is a registered trade mark of Cue Point Technology Ltd, UK trade mark number UK00004311336, registered in class 9. The CuePoints logo is our unregistered trade mark.

Using either commercially, or in a way that suggests we endorse something, needs our permission. Referring to us by name, in a review, an article, a credit list or a job advert, does not, and we would rather you spelled it right than avoided it. It is one word, capital C and capital P: CuePoints.

Other product and company names on this site belong to their respective owners and are used only to identify those products. NDI® is a registered trade mark of Vizrt NDI AB.

10. Changes to this page

We update this page when what we do changes. The date at the bottom shows which version is current.

11. Governing law

This page, and any dispute arising from it or from your use of this website, is governed by the law of England and Wales and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.

If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of any protection available to you under the law of the place where you live.
