Speed up your workflow with keyboard shortcuts

CuePoints is much faster once the keys are in your hands. There are two kinds of shortcut: the ones you set yourself, and the ones that are fixed.

Shortcuts You Set Yourself

Everything to do with playback and cues is yours to assign, on the Settings > Shortcuts pane. Click an action, press a key.

These are the defaults:

Action	Default key	What it does
Play / Pause	`Space`	Starts and stops playback
Skip playhead back	`←`	Nudges the playhead back. Hold Option to move selected cues too
Skip playhead forward	`→`	Nudges the playhead forward. Hold Option to move selected cues too
Previous CuePoint	`↑`	Jump to the cue before this one
Next CuePoint	`↓`	Jump to the cue after this one
Skip to start	`,`	Playhead to the beginning of the track
Previous track	`<`	Select the track before this one
Next track	`>`	Select the track after this one
Toggle repeat loop	`R`	When paused, the playhead returns to where you started
Snap selected to playhead	`S`	Moves the selected cues to the playhead
Label current CuePoint	`L`	Rename the selected cue
Fade current CuePoint	`F`	Set the fade time of the selected cue

Skipping By Different Amounts

The arrow keys have three sizes of step:

←→ on their own: small
Shift + ←→: medium
Command + ←→: large

Set each one, in frames or seconds, on the Shortcuts pane.

Hold Option while skipping and your selected cues move with the playhead.

Number Keys For Cue Types

The first ten visible CuePoint Types get the number keys 1 to 0.

This happens automatically while Auto-populate numeric shortcuts is on. Turn it off and you can assign every type by hand instead.

Because it follows what's visible, hiding a cue type shifts the numbers below it up. On a shared project the numbering only covers the types you have access to, so your keys stay sensible even when other departments' types are hidden from you.
